I met Kenneth at work on a carpet-cleaning night. I know, right; how romantic... the smell of detergent in the air, customers yelling in our ears- but his sly humor made me laugh all shift long. I tried walking to my car that morning, but couldn't even make it to the door before I rushed back to scribble my phone number on his note pad, freaking out the whole time because I had no idea if he was even single!
We had one awesome dinner then watched Disney's Tango Championship, commentating and laughing the whole time. Not long after that we became the best of friends, and I kept wanting to spend more and more time with him. Unfortunately, he was in a leadership position at work, and I didnt want to make things hard for him, so i let it be. MISTAKE! A year later when Kenneth accepted a position in a different department I invited him over to my place for a celebration dinner, and then I didn't want him ever to leave. Lucky me that he didn't want to, either.
Every day with Kenneth since then has been a day of laughter and love, even when we have more cause for tears or hard feelings. He shows me daily what a good man he is and what a good father he will be. I love this man. |
