| | Her story:
Two years ago I was working at QuikTrip, store 162 in Lee's Summit. I had been working there for a few months when Brent was assigned to the same store. It was about 2-3 months of working together before we developed a close friendship and started hanging out together.
The first official date was a surprise for me. The only clues I was given was to dress up and be ready by 5:30 pm. He came to pick me up and we stopped by his house. When we went inside, the hallways were lined with glowing candle-light, romantic music playing, and rose petals sprinkled on the ground leading me to a table set for just the two of us. We danced to Tim McGraw and Frank Sinatra before enjoying a delicious chicken spedini dinner from Salvatores.
His story:
I remember walking in the front door of QuikTrip and noticing Gerri at the registers. She was very bubbly and outgoing and her eyes just popped! I remember thinking, "Who the hell is this girl?" Throughout time, having many conversations with Gerri I realized I wanted to spend more time with her, outside of work. I remember after the United Way Golf Tournament, I had the night off so I went back to QuikTrip and I wanted to see what Gerri was doing that night. After hanging out with her that first night, I realized how much I wanted to be around her more. A slow and sudden friendship developed and we eventually had strong feelings for each other, leading to our first date. | | His story:
Our normal summer routine was going out driving around at Blue Springs Lake(doing a little deer spotting.) We were having a very deep conversation about life. "...how much we cared for each other, ...how much we enjoy spending time together, ...how much our lives just mesh with each other" I remember thinking in my head, "Why have I not asked this girl to marry me?" So I just asked her right then and there.
Her story:
"Are you serious?" So he asked me again, with as much, if not more sincerity, "Will you marry me?" I broke down in a puddle of tears and said, "yes!" | | Where: Club 1000
